W&M Washington Center | 901 4th St. NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20001
Sponsored by W&M Global Research Institute
You helped build William & Mary's legacy of bold thinking — now see it in action. Join us for the W&M Weekend Student Innovation Showcase, where undergraduate researchers from the Global Research Institute tackle some of the world's most complex challenges in fast-paced lightning talks. Student teams will present original research on high-stakes topics, including outcomes for Afghan migrants to the United States, emerging technologies in geopolitics, AI adoption in Middle Eastern oil economies, and an update on The William and Mary Disinformation Lab.
This isn't just a presentation — it's a dialogue. After each talk, you'll have the chance to ask questions, share your perspective, and offer the kind of real-world feedback that sharpens a young researcher's thinking in ways no classroom can. Tim Carroll '87, GRI supporter and mentor, will facilitate the conversation alongside Professors Mike Tierney '87, GRI Director, and Eric Brown of the Robert M. Gates Initiative in American Statecraft. Your experience and insight are exactly what these students need. Come ready to engage.
