Join the Hulon Willis Association for a high-energy afternoon at the Go-Go Museum & Cafe, honoring the 50th anniversary of go-go music, a genre born in Washington, D.C., and rooted in Black culture and community. The event begins with a guided museum tour led by founding Chief Curator Natalie Hopkinson, who will share insights into go-go’s influence and lasting impact. Afterward, enjoy a conga lesson and a festive day party featuring live music, food and a beer and wine bar. Connect with history, discover the joy of go-go music and celebrate with fellow alumni.

- Street parking may be limited around 1920 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE, so we recommend allowing extra time if you plan to drive or considering nearby garages or ride-share options.
- The museum is accessible via public transit. The closest Metrorail options are along the Green Line (Anacostia Station), followed by a short bus ride or rideshare. Metrobus routes also serve the area—please check WMATA for the most convenient route from your location.
- Dress comfortably and come ready to participate—you’ll want to move, play and dance!
